General Comments

A really enjoyable show and a genuine pleasure to judge alongside [log in to see names]. Thank you to [log in to see names] for organising the day, the chef for the tasty curry lunch, and [log in to see names] for stewarding so diligently. In my sections there were a few stand-out mice, lots that were distinctly average, and a few that were simply too young to be in a Maxey. Two disqualifications: one for an injured eye, probably caused by the harsh straw-like bedding in the Maxey; the other was a tiny young mouse that really should have stayed at home with its mummy. On the subject of bedding, a lot of the Maxeys were stuffed with way too much bedding. Fine in winter, but really not necessary at this time of year. [log in to see names] and I regularly found ourselves playing “find the mouse”!

Selfs

White (pink eye) Ad – 6

1st [log in to see names] B A good typy mouse to start my day. Good under, though eyes could be a little bolder and it should be a tad whiter.
2nd [log in to see names] B Good type and better colour, but a bit rough under spoilt
3rd [log in to see names] D Another that ticked most boxes, but spoilt by a strange thin patch of fur near rump.

White (pink eye) U8 – 3

Not a particularly good class. I’d hoped to see some promising young whites, but sadly not today.
1st [log in to see names] B My notes say average, thin under. Needs to develop.
2nd [log in to see names] D Another average, line under and small head.
3rd [log in to see names] Lacks type.

Cream Ad – 2

1st [log in to see names] B A good mouse. Pleasing type, with a thick under and great tail and tail set.
2nd [log in to see names] B Colour and condition both fair, loses on type.

Cream U8 – 1

1st [log in to see names] D Patchy colour, thin under, lacks type.

Black Ad – 6

Three exceptional mice in this class.

Red/Fawn Ad – 1

1st [log in to see names] Fawn B A bit too dark, lacks type and fails ears.

Red/Fawn U8 – 2

1st [log in to see names] Red D A little too light in colour, especially feet. Fair under, good type.
2nd [log in to see names] Fawn D Slightly too dark on top, but too light on feet and toes. They need work to get the colour right.
