Treasurer’s Report

A few months ago, the Executive asked me if I would take on the role of Treasurer at short notice. Longer standing members will know that I was Treasurer and Secretary of the NMC from 2014 to 2018 and I  agreed to become your Treasurer. 

Unfortunately there was no handover and I am therefore unable to provide an Income and Expenditure account for the year ended 30 June 2025. However I can confirm that NMC funds at 30 June 2025 were a total of £7,124, with £1,035 in the current account and £6,089 in the savings account.

For comparison the 30 June 2024 position, as reported in the Year book last showed total funds of £7,354. Therefore, while we don’t have detailed Accounts, the deficit for 2024-25 was only £230, so NMC is in good financial shape.

Looking forward, as you know, without a paper NMC News, costs of printing and mailing have reduced our expenditure substantially and this has been reflected in interim arrangements for your subscriptions which obviously reduces our income. I will work with the Executive to agree a longer term budget and fair membership subscription to take off these changes in our financial context.
