We have received 7 Maxeys from [log in to see names] of Doncaster. [log in to see names] used to be a member but stopped years ago. Thankfully, he looked us up and wrote to me. With Doncaster being just down the road, I paid him a visit, had a lovely chat in his front room and came back with 7 Maxeys and some bits of wisdom and stories about the mouse fancy. What a lovely chap! Maxeys were in a bit of a problematic state having been kept in a shed outside. Two were badly damaged but I have managed to combine the front of one with the rest of the other. I replaced some turn knobs and clasps and we now have 6 perfect show-worthy Maxeys. I am also donating two spare Maxeys to the club, bringing the total number owned by the club up to 8. They can be purchased for £15 each.
Missing Show Report
Another missing show report in this month’s issue. I hope it will be submitted. Better late than never.
Show Locations
The executive committee has voted on a motion to limit show locations to two shows per venue, excluding Cup Shows. You may wonder what brought this about and why we care. The reason is that the cost of travelling does not permit all members to reach all shows and the further a show is away from a member, the less likely they are to travel to that show. We want to offer more shows in the Midlands and are actively looking into venues to allow us to do this. This is not something that will change immediately, but after the AGM, so beginning with the new season. If you have concerns or would like to voice an opinion, please do so, using our Facebook group or by giving me a call on 07294 672693.
