I am sitting in the bay window in my dining room, enjoying my short period of unemployment. Plenty of time to carry out some long overdue tasks on the website. Unfortunately, without the visa in hand yet, I have no UK account and cannot therefore get proper internet installed. So I am on a pay-as-you-go router with two bars of 4G. Slow internet and major website refactoring are not good bedfellows. Still, I was able to get a few things done:-

I have updated the Leader Board page with a new section, showing the current section leaders. It was missing from the website and is now kept up to date and will show the correct position of fanciers in each section.
Due to some very quick rotations of cup secs in the current season, the numbers which were reported in the magazine were not always correct. With Ruth’s and Steven’s help, I have made sure that no errors can occur now. The points are worked out automagically by some clever code that is running in the bowels of the website.

Compensation points awarded for judging are now rounded correctly (instead of always being rounded down). The Leader Board reflects this change also.
There are also some changes to the members’ database which now allow you to up- or downgrade your membership and subscription to the mag right from your account page. Members with a partnership type membership can now invite their partner via email so both partners can be present on the members’ map with their varieties (or even their own addresses).

I have taken the opportunity to completely redesign the account page. It is now usable perfectly on mobile devices as well and sports a tabbed interface. (Same goes for the Join page but you won’t see that very often…)

The login box uses a different backend now and will not be dismissed when an error message appears but remain open until the error has been corrected or the login box is dismissed by the user. As we are entering the era of passwordless logins, your favourite club now also supports login with Facebook or Google.
Other than that, there have been a few updates to the layout and general usability which I hope everyone will find agreeable and useful. And bug fixes galore. A few all-nighters were had.
