GENERAL COMMENTS

Fantastic to be mousing again, thank you Stuart for asking me to judge. Well done to all the winners, especially Phil Hall with his Black Tan, judged by my co-judge Richard Greenwood (good to judge with you, Richard). Thank you Stephan for stewarding for me, you always do a great job.
The last time I went to a mouse show was Sowood, which I also judged. Sowood is a lovely place to go mousing, easy to get to and park, great views, and lots of hotels nearby if any new members are keen to make a weekend of it.

GENERAL COMMENTS

Good to be back!!Well done Stuart on organising the first. Also a pleasure to judge alongside Kelly for my first engagement for around 28 years! Thanks to Phil for being my steward and keeping me in line.
The mice were a very mixed bunch with quite a few spoilt by moult which for me raises the old question of which should come first, type/condition or moult? Tans were for me the best section with the very good u/8 Black Tan of Phil Hall taking Best, and then BIS. Lovely animal, great condition, tan feet spoil a little but the rest more than made up. The OAC Tans, Silver, Cham etc, for me need more on colour. Satins were a bit low in numbers but some very good typey animals shown. Two of the best spoilt by moult, a very good type Dove Tan and a sparkling young Fawn, both shown by Ruth Hollis. Marked section needed more entries, best a Cinnamon Dutch, fair animal, the u/8 Dutch class very difficult to judge.
