General Comments

When we got together with our five section winners, we went for the black before me as BIS. In actual fact most of the best mice were in my two sections but one I really liked was Neil Smith’s Choc Fox which was best AOV. A difficult top colour in a popular variety, but you’re nearly right there mate.

A lot of mice I saw in all sections were lacking in bone and muscle structure so I would advise feeding more to your stock. Some mice had skinny, match-stick tails which indicates they require more protein and carbs. Some Maxey cages had no shavings or sawdust in them, which is bad practice indeed. Anyone can phone me for advice and encouragement. Any time any day — but not when football is on.

Mick Shutt worked hard as Show Sec and was assisted in writing cards by Rob Walker. Mick did the old school way by pen and paper; no technology. After all Mick doesn’t need “tech” to order a round of drinks at the bar! Thanks to my Stuart Lynette Walker and Amy Booth – mum and daughter. They are in a family who love mice.

Our mouse fancy has experienced a bad time of late so let’s hope that’s all behind us and gone far far away. Let’s all be kind and considerate and exude compassion. After all it is only a pretty little mouse, but it’s nice that we all love to breed and exhibit.
