GENERAL COMMENTS

Many thanks to Stuart for the invite to judge at Sowood, and congratulations Stuart on your retirement from hosting this show after your many years of doing so. I hope myself and John Webster can take over the reins and make it as successful as it has been over your years as secretary.

It was a pleasure to judge alongside Bob, and may I also thank Simon for his speedy stewarding and help throughout the show. I’d also like to thank Ginny for her kitchen and refreshments.

Congratulations to Stephan with a lovely blacker-than-black BIS buck, nice to see. Congratulations also to Phil with another cracking Black Tan.

A very enjoyable day. Moult marks and chipped ears spoilt some otherwise very good mice, although worthy winners shone through.

GENERAL COMMENTS

It was a pleasure to judge at Sowood again, especially as it was a special show, Stuart’s last show as secretary. Thank you Stuart for all the work you have done for the mouse fancy in Yorkshire and beyond for many years.

The stock in my sections was a bit mixed. Phil had his usual team of quality Black and Choc Tans, and also a Blue Sable in the Unstandardised class, a nice mouse. There were some nice Cham Tans, much improved from the last ones I had seen, and it was good to see a Blue Tan, always my favourite colour. The Marked section had some nice mice in it, only small points separating them. The Satins were a bit mixed, the winners standing out.

A pleasure to judge with Andrew, and thank you to Phil for stewarding. Congratulations to Stephan for BIS with a great self Black, and Phil BOA with a young Black Tan.
