This impressively large wooden shield, in memory of a popular Yorkshire fancier, is inscribed CVMC on the central plaque for Calder Valley Mouse Club, along with the dates 1931 – 1987.

It stands 12 inches (30cm) high and is awarded for best champagne at the Spring Cup Show. However, it must have originally been awarded differently, probably for best in show at Calder Valley, because the first winner was Jack Hartley in 1988 with a satin. It was subsequently won by Frank Hawley in 1992 with a Dutch, and Mr & Mrs Wilson the following year with a tan.
