This wonderful silver bowl was donated by R Clark and is in- scribed with the date 1919 on the front. It stands approximately 7 inches (18 cm) high on its plinth and is awarded for Best Cream at the Spring Cup Show. It is one of our most impressive trophies and features a shaped, pierced and splayed rim, lion masks holding ring handles to left and right, and was made by top silversmiths Walker & Hall of Howard Street, Sheffield.

The hallmarks are for Sheffield 1919, and it was first competed for that same year. The winner was J T Middleton who won it at Lon- don on 27th November. It must have originally been competed for several times a year be- cause there were four winners recorded for some years.
